On the first Thursday of the month, we have the mighty Danse Macabre!
Danse Macabre is a goth/disco night at The Classic Grand. Every month, DJ Catnip and DJ Pasta spin an eclectic mix of goth rock, classic disco, italo-disco, post-punk, and 80s synthpop.
We’re open to all sorts of requests (but not The Smiths), often give out free cakes on the door, and make sure everyone who comes along will DANSE like there’s no tomorrow!
Name: DJ Pasta
Bio: DJ Pasta collects interesting sounds on old wax. Brought up on classic rock and electronic music, he spends far too much time behind turntables and computers, or digging in crates of records looking for new and weird sounds.
Clubs: Danse Macabre – Thursday
Name: DJ Catnip
Bio: DJ Catnip cut his teeth DJing by setting up the goth/disco night Danse Macabre with DJ Pasta, and quickly went on to do guest slots at other nights in and around Glasgow, playing everything from acid house to reggae. With a love of odd records, and a preference for playing fun and interesting music, give him some cider and black, and he’ll be your friend for life!
